Art rental, San Francisco
An art rental agency based in San Francisco. We connect spaces with beautiful original work by Bay Area artists, without the cost of owning it.
Nothing to buy, nothing to maintain, and unlike buying, it's deductible.
Who it's for
Galleries rent art to people who walk in. We bring it to you.
Regulars notice when the room changes. Keep it fresh without tying up cash you need for the kitchen.

Selected work
A few pieces on hand now. Size, artist and monthly rate on every one.
Why rent
Buying is a decision you live with for years. Renting is one you can change.
| Buy | Rent |
|---|---|
| One painting for years | A new piece whenever you want |
| Thousands upfront | A predictable monthly cost |
| Generally not deductible | An ordinary business expense |
| The artist is paid once | The artist is paid every month |
How it works
Choosing is the only hard part. And we can help with that too.
01 · You
Choose the work
Browse the collection yourself, or send us the room and a budget and we will pick three.
02 · You
Choose a plan
Month to month if you want flexibility, or a membership for our best rate.
03 · Us
We hang it
Usually under an hour, before you open. We bring everything.
04 · Us
We swap it when you want
New work whenever the room needs it. Insurance and repairs stay with us.

- Pieces ready to hang and move
- Students and alumni of Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, California College of the Arts, SF State and other Bay Area programs, and self-taught painters too
What to send us

- Five to ten images of recent work
- Where you're based
- Your school, if you studied or are studying art
Our guarantees
We're new, so we put our promises in writing. Four guarantees on every placement.
On time, or that month is free
If we miss the install date we agreed, you don't pay for that month.
Damage is never your cost
Every piece is insured by us from the artist's studio to your wall and back.
Original, with proof
Each piece comes with a signed certificate and the artist's name on the wall.
Walls left as we found them
When a piece comes down, we patch and touch up every hole.
Pricing
4% of the painting's value, a month. A $2,000 painting is $80. Most rooms come to $300 to $800.
Hanging, insurance and swaps are included. Choose month to month, or a membership for our best rate.
Keeping a piece
Fall for something on your wall? Half of everything you've paid on it comes off the price.
You rent a $2,000 painting
$960
$80 a month for twelve months
Half comes back as credit
$480
Applied to that same piece
You buy it for
$1,520
Instead of $2,000
Credit applies to the piece you've been renting, up to half its price. Renting never obliges you to buy.
Questions
What you're actually risking. Very little, by design.
- What if a piece gets damaged?
- It's on us. Every piece is insured and the cost is never passed on.
- Can we stop?
- Yes. On month to month, give thirty days notice and we collect everything.
- Do you drill into the walls?
- Usually, and we patch and touch up every hole when a piece comes down.
- What if we don't like a piece?
- We swap it at the next rotation, or sooner on a membership.
- Is it really deductible?
- Rent is generally an ordinary business expense. Ask your accountant what it's worth to you.
